Refund Policy

Last updated: 21 August 2026

This policy explains our 30-day money-back guarantee and how refunds work. It forms part of our Terms of Service.

Nothing here limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law. If a service has a major failure, you are entitled to a refund or replacement regardless of the timeframes below.

The 30-day money-back guarantee

If you are not happy with your hosting, tell us within 30 days of your first payment for that service and we will refund it in full. No forms, no exit interview — email hello@webcat.com.au and say you would like a refund.

The guarantee applies to:

  • your first purchase of a hosting plan, monthly or annual;
  • the hosting fee itself, in full.

It applies once per customer. It is intended for people trying us out and finding we are not the right fit, not as a way to use a service repeatedly without paying for it.

What is not covered

Domain names. Registrations, renewals and transfers are non-refundable once submitted to the registry. We pay the registry immediately and cannot recover that fee — this is standard across the industry, and it applies even if you cancel hosting within the guarantee period. The domain remains yours for its full term, and you can transfer it away.

Renewals. The guarantee covers your first payment for a service, not later renewal payments. Cancel before a renewal date if you do not want to continue; we send invoices 14 days in advance so you have notice.

Services terminated for breach. If we suspend or terminate a service because of a serious breach of our acceptable use policy — spam, malware distribution, illegal content — fees are not refundable.

Third-party fees. Anything we purchase from a supplier on your behalf at your request and cannot recover.

Cancelling partway through a term

Outside the 30-day guarantee we do not refund unused time on a monthly plan; the service simply runs to the end of the period you have paid for.

For annual plans cancelled after the guarantee period, contact us. We will consider a pro-rata refund of whole unused months, less any discount you received for paying annually. This is discretionary, but we would rather part on good terms than hold onto money for a service you are not using.

How refunds are paid

Refunds go back to the original payment method — normally the card you paid with, through Stripe. We process them within 5 business days of agreeing the refund; your bank may take a few days more to show it.

If the original method is no longer available, we will arrange a bank transfer to an Australian account in your name.

Before you ask for a refund

Not a condition, just an offer: if something is not working, tell us what it is first. Most refund requests we expect to see will be fixable problems — a slow site, a migration that did not go smoothly, an email that will not send. You reach the person who runs the platform, and we would rather fix it. If we cannot, the refund still stands.
